GIVING IS CARING
Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person
Snehan project
Snehan project was started in 2010 to rescue orphans/abandoned elders from the streets of Puducherry. The objective of the project is to identify homeless people; conduct rescue operations for them; provide spot counseling and other ne-cessities such as food, and clothes, and arrange temporary shelter and resettle.
How we work under Snehan
We are getting phone calls from community people, the police department, tourists, the social welfare department of Puducherry, etc., to inform us about abandoned men/women/children. After getting information, Snehan Teach reaches the wherea-bouts of an abandoned elder living in miserable conditions.
The team provides food, clean clothes, and talks to earn their trust. If Social Work-er (Counselor) successfully collects adequate data about the identity of the aban-doned elder, then contact the family members/relatives and restore. But, if the counselor is unable to collect data, then contact various shelters run by other NGOs / state governments to provide an alternative shelter for abandoned ones.
